Honestly, releasing this album took some guts, a change of heart, and a ton of support from friends (specifically my wife) who convinced me it’s worth sharing with the world. For years I refused to call myself a “rapper” for fear of any negative connotation it might hold. Well… I finally did it - my first full-length rap album. And there’s no turning back.

Protagonist is my first album composed entirely of rap music. Each song represents a theme of our main character’s story. Some may be vague, some specific, and some perhaps aggressive - but the thing I want listeners to grasp is the release of expectations. You, as the listener, have no obligation to like, resonate, or even understand what I am trying to convey in these songs. And I, as the creator, have no obligation to explain or defend my writing. That’s the beauty of art. Just as I set you free, I am set free.

At the same time, these songs hold personal value to me, and I am proud of myself for taking this leap of faith. I hope you can appreciate the direction of this project and that you find it valuable - but even if you don’t, that is okay too.
